Preschool Vision and Mission Statements
Vision Statement
Har Shalom Preschool/Kindergarten is a learning community that celebrates universal themes through Jewish life and holiday cycles. The curriculum establishes a foundation of social and academic skills within a nurturing, non-competitive environment. Each child's independence and self-esteem is enhanced in an interactive setting that features hands-on exploration. Har Shalom Preschool/Kindergarten honors the expression of individual character while encouraging children to regard themselves as part of a larger world in which they share responsibility.
Mission Statement
Har Shalom Preschool/Kindergarten operates as a welcoming arm of the larger Congregation Har Shalom community; we work to be a contributing factor for a Center for Jewish Living. We invite families and their young children to engage in Jewish life through independent and communal experiences and exploration. Our Montessori inspired program values the whole child and celebrates their unique academic, spiritual, social and emotional needs. We empower children with a sense of ownership for their Synagogue Community, encouraging participation in events of the larger community (beginning in the preschool classroom and graduating to religious school) and joyfully supporting their growing Jewish sense of self.
Har Shalom Preschool & Kindergarten values diversity. All Students are welcome.
