Donations and New Books

Book Donations

Books donated to the Library are acknowledged weekly in Happenings.

All books with Judaic content are gratefully accepted as donations. Please be a courteous donor and only offer books in good condition (no torn pages, excessive margin notes, broken or torn spines, water or other damage, etc). Depending on need, donated books will either be put into circulation or in the used book sale to generate funds to purchase targeted and requested books for the Children's and Adult Libraries.

Upon request, large donations will be bookplated with the name of the donor and the English and Hebrew dates of the donation. Any book purchased by a congregant for the Library to mark an occasion such as a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, or to fulfill a specific need with be bookplated with the name of the donor, the English/Hebrew date and the occasion.

New Books

New books for the Adult Library are purchased upon request. Please submit suggestions for new, current books to update the Library's collection to Judy Petersen, Library Director.

New books for the Children's Library are purchased in conjunction with the CHS Religious School as a budget item. Additional books are purchased through Religious School Tzedakah projects, book drives held during Jewish Book Month (November), and biannual used book sales.
