Dear Har Shalom community,

This past week was the kickoff of Har Shalom’s Summer JEEP Camp and it’s off to a great start thanks to the leadership of Kyle Herman. Thanks to Kyle’s energy, creativity and love for camp, his staff, madrichim and campers are having a super time. There’s a buzz on campus with all these happy campers and from my perspective, it’s going to be a fun-filled summer at Har Shalom. If you are interested in sending your children to camp this summer, please click on this link and fill out camp registration.

During the week of July 4th, the construction of our brick path will begin. Once the path is in place, bricks will be engraved for those donors who purchased bricks, and this legacy path will continue to grow over the years. Many thanks to the volunteers who have supported this effort, Greg Herman, Leah Lamkin, Nicki Shamis, and Neil Sherrod and all the donors who made this possible.

The week of July 29th, our parking lot will be closed for a couple of days to complete a project that began last year. The parking lot will be sealed and striped and during this time, members will not be able to park at Har Shalom. Stay tuned for project updates and parking alternatives.

Since 2015, Jasmyn Zeigerson has been washing our tablecloths that we use for Shabbat and events. This was part of her Girl Scout project, she was paid to do this job and it’s time for Jasmyn to turn this over to another Girl Scout. If you are a Girl Scout and wish to takeover this project, please reach out to me. We could really use your help. Thank you, Jasmyn, for your time, treasures and dedication!

Our new fiscal year begins July 1, 2019. Member renewal statements will be sent out mid-June. Your statements will include an $18.00 monthly security fee (new this year) and you will be billed the same current dues amount as this current fiscal year. Very soon, we will ask you to select a dues category and consider a new dues level. This will all be explained in detail in the next couple of weeks.

Our Har Shalom community is the bedrock on which a meaningful Jewish identity is founded, celebrated and passed onto the next generation and together, lets continue to be as generous as we can to sustain our amazing Har Shalom community.

L’ shalom,

Debbi Bodie
