Covering Our Heads: Exploring Islamic & Jewish Women's Practice

Spend an informative and fun evening learning about the Jewish and Islamic women's practice of covering their heads, as well as their historical beginnings. We will gather at the home of CHS member, Lois Fink. 

Rabbi Finestone will discuss the Jewish traditions of women covering their heads, including the modern use of the Kippah, and Aisha Hardesty Islam, from the Fort Collins Islamic Center, will share the practices of the Islamic customs. Aisha will bring an assortment of scarves, and we'll watch as she demonstrates how she puts on her hijab.Come discover  the similarities and differences between our two religions.

Please bring a desert "nosh" to share! If you have questions, please contact Lois

Note: Covering Our Heads: Jewish and Islamic Women Customs event is for women only. Aisha, from the Ft. Collins Islamic Center, can not remover her head covering in the presence of men. We thank you for understanding this custom.
