Afterschool Aleph-Bet Club Teacher

The Aleph-Bet Club is a preschool after school program in midtown Fort Collins that operates from 2:15 - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. Approximately 12 children attend the program on a daily basis. As an Aleph-Bet teacher, you and your co-teacher are responsible for the classroom, including the development of play-based planned activities and a daily schedule. Aleph-Bet Teachers are expected to uphold to the mission, policies, and procedures of Har Shalom Preschool as well as the NAEYC code of conduct.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an inspired program that includes Jewish values themes and best fits the Aleph-Bet Club play-based philosophy.*
  • Foster a positive collaborative environment.
  • Ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care of the children enrolled.
  • Help train substitute teachers.
  • Maintain organized classroom environment (averages 1 teacher every 4-6 kids at this time of the afternoon).
  • Perform daily classroom maintenance duties as needed to ensure a clean, sanitized, and safe preschool environment.
  • Participate in team building meetings.
  • Misc. other duties as assigned.

Certifications to be taken in first 30 days of employment

  • CPR/1st Aid
  • Standard Precautions
  • Background check
